This mixed media piece is a perfect reflection of everything I love: Structured chaos, blues, botanicals, food!, texture, stripes, traditional + abstracted objects, and my heirloom ginger jars.

As I prepare for Baby #2, tablescapes have become a much needed creative outlet. They provide me a “jumping off point” to play creatively. This piece came about intuitively (as most do), where I begin by compiling fabrics and papers that speak to me, collage them instinctively and then begin looking for shapes and composition that feels pleasing and calming to me. In all of my work, I’ve noticed that I lean towards a balance of calm and chaos, structure and wild. Funny how art can show us our inner selves!
