In these works, I explore the friction between beauty and discomfort — loud colors beside soft ones, thorny plants in serene gardens, and shapes that threaten to overtake the canvas yet resolve into movement and pattern. Rooted in the Central Texas landscape, this series uses place as metaphor for the tension and resilience that live in all of us.
