For Sylvia

30”x40” mixed media collage on stretched canvas.

For Sylvia explores my ongoing interest in blending indoor and outdoor elements, using manmade textiles to merge the two. The fig tree in this piece is a nod to Sylvia Plath, whose work I admire deeply. Growing up with fig trees in the yard, they will always remind me of her—symbolizing both nature and the complexities of memory and growth.

This assemblage is in a private collection.
