The Dragons is inspired by a lamp in my home crafted from a ginger jar. The lamp's design features a dragon motif, a common decoration on porcelain ginger jars. These dragons, often depicted amidst stylized clouds, symbolize strength, good fortune, and protection. In this piece, I layered fabric, paper, and acrylic paint to create a composition that reflects the lamp's design and the symbolism of the dragon. The warm walnut frame complements the rich tones within the artwork, enhancing its presence. This piece invites viewers to explore the interplay between the manmade and the natural world, capturing a sense of guardianship and harmony.
